Living with diabetes

Living with diabetes can feel like a burden. The Advani Lab’s goal is to improve the lives of people with diabetes now and in the future.

At the Advani Lab we are conducting early phase, discovery research into the long-term health problems that diabetes can cause, like kidney disease and heart disease. We’re also researching ways of improving life with diabetes today. This research is centred on understanding what it is like for young people who live with Type 1 diabetes. To do this we are using photographs and interviews.

Looking ahead, we want to partner with people with diabetes to help us plan our research and our clinical care. This is called patient engagement. If you would like to partner with us, then watch this space for opportunities that we hope will come up soon.
